Role Overview
The role of Technical Specialist, Partnerships & Organisational Development, Arctic, offers the opportunity to help shape a new, community-led Arctic Initiative from its earliest phase. Unlike established projects with predefined workplans, the focus at this stage is on listening, relationship-building, scoping and co-design. You will work directly with partner organisations in Norway and Greenland to understand local priorities, capacity needs, barriers and aspirations, and to help translate these insights into early programme strategies, pilot activities and locally-led pathways for action.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with partner organisations in Norway and Greenland.
- Understand local priorities, capacity needs, barriers, and aspirations.
- Translate insights into early programme strategies, pilot activities, and locally-led pathways for action.
- Develop and support partnerships with Indigenous-led and locally led organisations.
- Help partners identify and address organisational priorities.
- Coordinate tailored organisational development, mentoring, and technical support.
- Connect partners with wider expertise, funding opportunities, and networks.
- Ensure Fauna & Flora's support complements existing initiatives and responds to partner-defined priorities.
- Ensure development of the Arctic Initiative remains grounded in partner perspectives.

Required Skills and Experience
- Strong capacity-building, organisational development, and mentoring skills.
- Significant experience tailoring support to different contexts and needs.
- Excellent relationship-builder with the ability to establish trust, listen deeply, and work with humility across diverse cultures and perspectives.
- Excellent facilitation skills to lead workshops, structured conversations, and consensus-building activities.
- Sound judgement and effective problem-solving.
- Effective organisational and time-management skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
- Additional Arctic-relevant language skills, such as Greenlandic (Kalaallisut), North Sámi, or Norwegian, would be an advantage.

Location and Working Conditions
- Position based at Fauna & Flora’s Cambridge office.
- Partial remote working within the UK, to be agreed between the post-holder and line-manager.
