The Role
This is a newly created role, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to shape the way we work, supporting Kia UK's growing PBV and fleet ambitions. You will work closely with the existing Technical Specialists and Senior Technical Advisors to provide industry-leading levels of Technical Support to our PBV Centres and fleet partners.
The role will be predominantly office-based but may require 'fast response' visits across the country to help diagnose and repair faults on our PBV range of vehicles. The aim is to proactively minimize vehicle off-road time, which is fundamental when supporting commercial vehicles.
This role will suit someone who is ideally qualified to Master Technician level and has previous experience working on and diagnosing faults with high-voltage components on EV vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Technical Advisors and the other Technical Specialists to effectively coordinate the field-based team activity, ensuring maximum utilization of the resource.
- Provide onsite technical support and coaching to Technicians at Kia UK Limited dealers, PBV Centres, and fleet operator workshops to ensure the fastest possible repair of customer and fleet vehicles.
- Provide onsite technical support to Kia UK Limited’s dealers and PBV Centre’s to ensure the fastest possible repair of customer and fleet vehicles.
- Carry out vehicle inspections to ascertain the warranty liability and negotiate repair costs.
- Provide support for new model launches, new model evaluations, press events, and quality investigations.
- Collaborate with the Customer Service department when dealing with customer contacts of a technical nature, including communicating with customers and dealers, completing inspections when considered appropriate to do so, and recommending courses of action required to resolve customer and fleet concerns.
- Proactively work to minimize vehicle off-road time.
- Collaborate with the Quality team when appropriate to raise product concerns that require further investigation or factory liaison.
- Provide technical support to the internal departments within Kia UK Limited and approved suppliers.
- Collaborate with Kia HQ, KaSK (Kia Slovakia), and KEU (Kia Europe) on technical-related matters.
- Attend Technical Seminars and training, share information within the team.
- Ensure that all relevant KUK internal policies are adhered to.
- Accurately document/record all contacts responded to.

About You
Education
- City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Technicians Part 3 or equivalent
Skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
Experience
- Automotive manufacturer/importer level within an After Sales role or Dealer Technician
- ‘Hands-on’ motor industry experience in a Service Department

Location/Travel
The Kia UK Head Office is based in Walton-on-Thames, just a 5-minute walk from the station. We also have plenty of on-site parking for drivers, including EV charging ports.
