Salary: circa £41,000 basic salary, depending on experience.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as Technical Stores Manager, you’ll be a key player in supporting our engineering and manufacturing operations by ensuring the availability, accuracy, and efficiency of spare parts and materials. You’ll lead a dedicated stores team, manage inventory systems, and drive continuous improvement in stock control processes — all while helping to maintain uptime across our production lines.

Your impact
As Technical Stores Manager, your core responsibility is to ensure the efficient management of spare parts and materials that support the engineering and production teams. You’ll lead the stores function by overseeing inventory accuracy, optimizing stock levels, and maintaining robust data systems. Your role is critical in minimizing downtime, expediting urgent orders, and driving continuous improvement across stores operations—all while fostering a high-performing team culture and collaborating closely with cross-functional departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management
- Oversee spare parts lifecycle: receiving, issuing, reordering, and storage
- Maintain optimal stock levels aligned with maintenance strategies
- Forecast demand and manage critical spares to minimize downtime
- System & Data Management including audits
- Create and maintain accurate MRP data and master records for new items
- Use Excel and digital tools to streamline stock control and reporting
- Drive continuous improvement in inventory accuracy and traceability
- Operational Excellence with aspiration for best in class
- Lead cycle counting, access control, and user training for stores systems
- Manage emergency orders and expedite critical deliveries
- Support red tagging and “if down do” protocols to ensure rapid response
- Develop the team, fostering a culture of continuous development.
- Actively manage KPIs and implement process improvements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and suppliers
- Support shutdown parts coordination

Your ingredients for success
Key attributes we are looking for:
- Proven track record within a Stores Management role
- Evidence of working with a Stores Management system or other relevant Computer system
- Proficient user in MS Office, Invoicing
- FLT Licence (not essential)
