Technical Support Administrator

Job description:

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To provide administrative support within the Technical Support Team, the first touch point with our customers. To demonstrate an understanding of the building control process to engage effectively with customers, support them in booking site visits, paying invoices and assist in answering queries related to the building control process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties of the post include, but are not limited to:

  • Arranging site visits, on behalf of customers and in line with our process requirements.
  • Handling and registering applications from customers and processing the associated payments.
  • Answering non-technical questions from customers, developing knowledge to answer more technical based questions.
  • Ensuring the department’s operating system is managed effectively by the team and contains up to date and accurate information.
  • Read basic building plans. This will be supported with coaching from senior colleagues.
  • Process and issue copy document requests and associated correspondence.
  • Responsibility for registering the demolition requests.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong written, verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Competent user of a range of Microsoft Office Systems.
  • Good attention to detail and able to input computer data accurately, seeking to deliver a high-quality service to both colleagues and external customers.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Process oriented.
  • Able to or open to learning a basic understanding of applicable building control matters leading to more technical knowledge.
  • User knowledge of Bluebeam for simple plans and fee calculations.
  • Excellent people and relationship skills.

  • Ability to self-motivate to encourage the effectiveness of colleagues.

Annual Salary:

£25,000 - £27,000 DOE

Work Location:

Office Based, In person

  • Remote based role with periodic office presence as required
  • Leave of 25 days per annum plus bank holidays
  • Employer pension contribution of 6% with a minimum employee contribution of 2%
