Technical Support Chemist
As our new Technical Support Chemist, you’ll play a key role within the Tech Support team, working closely with our Composites, Adhesives and Tooling, and Functional Polymers businesses to support customers and develop practical technical solutions.
You’ll help drive customer satisfaction and product performance by combining hands-on laboratory work with technical advice, application recommendations and product training. This is an opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects, building your technical expertise while making a direct impact on our customers and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver short-term and customer-specific development projects within agreed timescales.
- Evaluate product performance and applications across Composites, Adhesives, Tooling and Functional Polymers.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and application advice to customers and commercial teams.
- Support product scale-up, trials and market readiness in collaboration with manufacturing and R&D.
- Maintain accurate technical records and represent Scott Bader at customer trials and industry events.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Chemistry or a related technical discipline.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory, testing or technical support environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to understand the impact of technical recommendations on customers and the wider business.
