Technical Support Officer (Compliance) – 12-Month Contract
Location: Harlow, Essex
Rate: £150.00 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: 12-Month Contract
Hours: Full Time
Working Pattern: Office-Based 3 Days Per Week (Increasing to 4 Days)
Pay: Bi-weekly
Summary
Harlow Council is in search of a dedicated Technical Support Officer to enhance its Compliance Team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring statutory safety compliance across a housing portfolio exceeding 8,900 properties. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in data management, systems, reporting, administration, and Excel, who are eager to gain experience in housing compliance, safety management, and operational support. Collaborating with compliance experts, you will contribute to essential safety programmes, including Gas, Electrical, Fire Safety, Asbestos, Water Hygiene, and Lift Safety.
Responsibilities
- Deliver technical, business, and administrative assistance to the Compliance Team.
- Organize appointments and facilitate the execution of compliance programmes.
- Oversee compliance systems, alerts, and shared inboxes.
- Keep precise records, certificates, and compliance documentation.
- Manage inquiries from residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Support initiatives for data cleansing, validation, and quality enhancement.
- Collect, analyze, and manage information across various systems.
- Generate reports and performance data using Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Assist in compliance-related projects and system enhancements.
- Ensure compliance records are accurate, current, and ready for audits.

Essential Requirements
- Proficient in Excel and IT.
- Experience handling large datasets and information.
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong administrative and organizational capabilities.
- Experience in maintaining databases and management systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and adhere to deadlines.
- Quick learner of new systems and processes.

Desirable
- Experience in Housing, Compliance, Property Services, Asset Management, or Local Government.
- Background in supporting statutory compliance programmes.
- Experience in Data Analysis or Performance Reporting.
- Degree in Business, IT, Data Analytics, or a related field.
