Identify gaps, risks and unclear steps, provide feedback and recommendations, and raise them with functional team leaders and management where appropriate. Support change execution where needed in line with NEC’s Change Management process.
- Documentation, knowledge and work planning: Create, review and maintain work plans, work instructions, technical notes, knowledge base entries and solution design documentation, including diagrams, in approved repositories. Develop new documentation, knowledge and ways of working where gaps are identified.

Share knowledge, provide practical guidance and coaching, and spend time supporting colleagues to build their technical knowledge, confidence and capability.
- Security remediation: Support teams across Control Room Support to assess and progress technical vulnerability remediation and actions arising from security remediation plans. Contribute to the technical approach, complete assigned work and raise risks, blockers or decisions with functional team leaders and management where appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
