About The Role
An exciting opportunity to develop into a key technical role within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Emkay Plastics Ltd is seeking a practical, technically minded individual to join our team as a Technical Support Engineer. This role involves working closely with and supporting the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to enhance the company’s technical capabilities. The position is designed not merely as administrative support but as a developmental pathway for someone passionate about understanding how machinery, drawings, and manufacturing processes work. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience across various technical areas, gradually taking on responsibility for routine and intermediate technical activities. This role offers a unique chance to grow technical knowledge, contribute to innovative projects, and become an integral part of a specialized engineering business.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude with a keen interest in engineering and manufacturing processes. Relevant experience in engineering, CNC, CAD, or quality systems is advantageous but not mandatory, as a willingness to learn is prioritized. Candidates should demonstrate a practical and logical approach to problem-solving, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail. Proficiency in computer skills, familiarity with measurements and technical information, and the ability to understand engineering drawings are essential. The role is suited for individuals eager to develop their skills and take on increasing responsibilities. Candidates with experience in CAD, CNC machining, laser cutting, or manufacturing systems will have an added advantage, but candidates with the right attitude and aptitude will also be considered.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
