About The Role
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and customer-focused Technical Support Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your engineering career within a growing UK manufacturer dedicated to innovation and excellence. As a key member of the technical support team, you will be responsible for supporting the development, testing, and continuous improvement of both new and existing products. Your expertise will contribute to research and development initiatives, ensuring that products meet high standards of quality, performance, and manufacturability.
The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including production, sales, and design to ensure seamless product development and delivery. You will also provide technical support to customers, working directly with them to understand their needs and recommend tailored solutions. Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) in engineering or a related discipline. Previous experience within a product or manufacturing environment is essential. Experience in sheet metal fabrication, technical support, product development, or proficiency with Solid Edge CAD software would be advantageous. However, a strong technical aptitude, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn are equally important. The ability to work effectively in a team, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and maintain a proactive approach to challenges will be highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, testing, and continuous improvement of new and existing products to meet quality and performance standards.
- Contribute to research and development projects, assisting in the creation of innovative product solutions.
- Produce and maintain detailed engineering drawings, drawing packs, and bills of materials to ensure accurate documentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, sales, and other internal teams to facilitate effective product design and manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical support to customers, addressing queries and offering solutions to technical challenges.
- Work directly with customers to understand their requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Apply design for manufacture principles to optimize product quality, performance, and ease of production.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and supporting materials to communicate project progress and technical insights.
