GEA is one of the world’s largest systems suppliers for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors. Our portfolio includes machinery and plants as well as advanced process technology, components and comprehensive services. Guided by a strong sense of purpose, our more than 18,000 dedicated employees work to enhance the sustainability and efficiency of production processes globally.

Responsibilities / Tasks

With the continued success of GEA Milking Systems, we are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our Farm Technologies UK team.

This is a varied, field-based role supporting our advanced Automated Milking Systems (AMS) and Dealer Network. The position combines working from home with travel, predominantly across the South of the UK, although UK-wide travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.

Joining GEA means becoming part of one of the world’s leading engineering companies, working with innovative technology within the dairy farming industry.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Technical Support, you will:

  • Provide technical support to our Dealer Network and customers using GEA AMS robotic milking systems and associated equipment.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, and delivery of technical training programmes for both the Dealer Network and internal teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues, escalating to GEA HQ Support where necessary along with accurate and detailed descriptions of the issue.
  • Communicate technical issues and solutions across the UK Technical Team and produce relevant technical bulletins and guidance for GEA and the Dealer Network.
  • Support new AMS projects from pre-installation through to commissioning, ensuring equipment is installed to GEA standards.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to Dealers and customers following installation.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical solutions and liaise with relevant teams on installation plans.
  • Deliver training to AMS customers, enabling them to fully understand the system and maximise its functionality, value, and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting in line with company requirements.
  • Assess risks and ensure compliance with GEA quality, health, safety and environmental (QHSE) standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
