Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading provider of uninterruptible power supplies and Swicthgear solutions to recruit a Technical Support Engineer for its UK-wide service team.
The strategically important Industrial Technical Support Engineer role comes with a salary of £38,000-£45,000 (depending on experience), company van, pension, overtime opportunities, door-to-door pay, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Responsibilities and duties of the Technical Support Engineer role
Reporting to the Technical Manager you will:
- Provide technical support to customers and Sales team for Swicthgear products, including application guidance and troubleshooting.
- Propose appropriate solutions to meet customer application requirements, ensuring technical suitability and clear communication of key assumptions or limitations.
- Deliver product technical and catalogue training to customers and staff.
- Attend customer sites to provide commissioning and troubleshooting assistance where required.
- Assist the sales team with technical estimates for quotations.
- Assess customer product returns and prepare clear technical assessment reports to support issue resolution and continuous improvement.

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering diploma or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 4 years' experience within the low-voltage electrical sector
Personal skills
The Technical Support Engineer role would suit someone who is:
- Technically skilled with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Confident in supervising others and providing guidance.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Flexible and prepared to travel to support customer needs.
- Strong in communication, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, engineers, and sales teams.

Salary and benefits of the Technical Support Engineer role
- Salary: £38,000-£45,000 per annum (negotiable, pending on experience).
- Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:00 (with flexible start/finish times).
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (33 days in total).
- Pension scheme.
- Overtime available.
