About The Role
We are seeking a practical, technically minded individual to join our team as a Technical Support Engineer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop into a key technical position within the company, working closely with and supporting our Chief Technical Officer. The successful candidate will not be confined to administrative tasks but will be actively involved in understanding and supporting various technical processes across the business. The role provides a platform for professional growth, offering hands-on experience with engineering drawings, machinery, manufacturing processes, and quality systems.
This position is designed for individuals eager to learn and develop their technical skills across multiple areas. As part of the team, you will assist with reviewing technical drawings, preparing job cards, supporting quotations, troubleshooting machinery, and providing technical support to production and sales teams. Over time, your responsibilities will expand as your knowledge and experience grow, enabling you to take on more complex tasks and contribute significantly to the company's technical development.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, with either relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, CNC, CAD, or related fields, or a keen interest in developing such skills. Formal qualifications in engineering, manufacturing, or technical disciplines are advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate a practical and logical approach to problem-solving, excellent organizational skills, and a strong attention to detail. Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with CAD software, Microsoft Office, or similar tools, is desirable. A willingness to learn new machinery, software, and manufacturing processes is essential, along with confident communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
Experience with CAD, CNC machining, laser cutting, engineering drawings, or quality systems will be considered an advantage, but candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn will be prioritized.
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret technical drawings and CAD files to ensure manufacturing accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare job cards and support the development of quotations for laser cutting and machining projects.
- Understand and apply tolerances, materials, and manufacturing requirements to support production activities.
- Assist production teams by providing technical support and troubleshooting machinery issues.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers to resolve machinery problems and optimize performance.
- Support oven processes and learn critical production procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Provide technical assistance to the sales team and respond to customer inquiries with accurate technical information.
- Contribute to quality control processes, ensuring products meet specified standards and specifications.
- Maintain and update equipment calibration records and schedules to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation to support consistent manufacturing practices.
- Assist with ISO and other accreditation requirements, working closely with senior management.
- Support technical systems, software, and internal projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes.
- Participate in technical trials, development projects, and the implementation of new manufacturing techniques.
- Ensure technical records are accurate, comprehensive, and properly documented for knowledge retention and process improvement.
- Potentially contribute to sustainability initiatives, marketing activities, website updates, and other cross-functional projects.
