About the Role

The Technical Support Lead will oversee the day-to-day technical support function within the Service Department, providing technical guidance to Field Service Engineers and acting as the main point of contact for technical queries. The role involves working closely with Field Service Engineers, Supply Chain and equipment manufacturers to troubleshoot issues, identify solutions and ensure problems are resolved safely and efficiently.

Reporting directly to the European Service Manager, the position will support the overall performance of the Service Department and the quality of technical service provided to customers. It is a varied, hands-on role requiring strong technical knowledge, leadership, problem-solving and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. This is a hybrid one-year fixed-term position, ideally suited to someone based in or within commuting distance of Naas, Co. Kildare, with some travel required for site visits and training.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the department’s primary point of contact for technical queries and escalations, working closely with the administration team.
  • Provide technical support to customers and Field Service Engineers by phone, email and, where required, on site.
  • Coordinate technical priorities with the Service Administration team and support the effective scheduling and deployment of Field Service Engineers.
  • Review maintenance and call-out reports, issue internal technical bulletins, validate technical recommendations and ensure actions are clearly communicated and progressed.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, driving timely resolution while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and improve service manuals, SOPs, technical documentation and the department knowledge base.
  • Support engineer induction, coaching, technical development reviews and training aligned with business needs.
  • Liaise with Procurement on technical specifications and service materials, while maintaining commercial awareness and cost control.
  • Ensure service activities comply with company procedures, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements, environmental regulations and safety policies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
