Newcastle | Hybrid | £60,000 – £80,000 + bonus & benefits

I’m working with an established, independently owned fintech business that provides electronic trading technology to institutional financial markets.

The company has been growing across the UK, Europe and US and is continuing to invest in its Newcastle operation, which is becoming an increasingly important hub for the business.

As part of that growth, they’re hiring a Technical Support Lead to take responsibility for a small team across Client Support and Onboarding. This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll manage and develop the team, but remain close to the technology and clients yourself: troubleshooting issues, supporting onboarding, understanding client workflows and improving how support is delivered as the business scales. It would suit someone who enjoys solving problems and working with clients, but also wants the opportunity to lead people, improve processes and take greater ownership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
