We are supporting a major utilities client in hiring an OT Technical Support Manager to lead the operational support, maintenance and resilience of high-availability operational technology (OT) systems, with a focus on incident response, service delivery, patching and vulnerability remediation.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role covering the day-to-day support and operational management of core OT platforms, including DMS, SCADA, data historians, telemetry and communications systems. The successful candidate will own incident management, fault diagnosis and recovery within a high-availability environment, lead OT patching and vulnerability remediation activity, and manage resourcing, capability and development across a technical team.

This role suits an experienced OT/Utilities operations professional with strong incident management and team leadership skills, comfortable owning service delivery and stakeholder relationships within a regulated, critical national infrastructure setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational support and day-to-day management of OT platforms, including DMS, SCADA, data historians, telemetry and communications systems
  • Own incident management, fault diagnosis, recovery and operational resilience across high-availability OT environments
  • Lead OT patching, vulnerability remediation and maintenance activity in line with agreed schedules and compliance requirements
  • Manage resource allocation, capability mapping, coaching and development across the technical support team
  • Provide strong operational leadership, ensuring service delivery commitments are consistently met
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective, coordinated operational support

Essential Skills

  • Strong experience in the support and operational management of OT platforms, including DMS, SCADA, data historians and telemetry systems
  • Experience in incident management, fault diagnosis, recovery and operational resilience within high-availability environments
  • Experience with OT patching, vulnerability remediation and maintenance activities
  • Experience with resource allocation, capability mapping, coaching and development of technical teams
  • Strong operational leadership and stakeholder management experience

Desirable Skills

  • Domain experience within the utilities or wider critical national infrastructure sector
  • Familiarity with OT security standards and frameworks (e.g. IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NCSC CAF)
  • Experience operating within a regulated environment with formal incident and change management processes
