Position Description

At CGI, we're driving quality and innovation across complex digital transformation programmes that deliver critical services to our clients. As a Technical Test Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that enterprise applications, integrations and supporting technologies meet the highest standards of quality, reliability and performance. Combining strong technical testing expertise with hands-on leadership, you'll lead functional and integration testing across complex technology landscapes, helping to deliver secure, resilient and business-critical solutions.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer' by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner, not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you'll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We'll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of some of our programmes, you will need to be eligible for UK Security Check (SC) clearance. This is a hybrid role based out of Belfast, with travel to client site as required.

Your future duties and responsibilities

As a Technical Test Lead at CGI, you'll take responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering functional and integration testing across complex, interconnected systems. You'll provide technical leadership to test analysts and engineers, ensuring that applications, APIs, messaging services and end-to-end business processes operate as expected.

Working with modern technologies including Salesforce, MuleSoft and AWS, you'll collaborate with architects, developers, business analysts and delivery teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle. This is an opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging testing activities, influence quality engineering practices and contribute to the successful delivery of high-profile transformation programmes.

You'll work closely with the Test Manager, solution architects, developers and business stakeholders to translate technical designs and business requirements into effective test coverage. With a particular focus on Salesforce applications, MuleSoft integrations and cloud-hosted services, you'll ensure that testing is risk-driven, technically robust and aligned with programme delivery milestones.

  • Lead & Deliver: Plan, coordinate and oversee functional, system and integration testing activities, ensuring comprehensive coverage of business processes, technical interfaces and end-to-end user journeys.
  • Drive Technical Testing: Lead validation of Salesforce applications, MuleSoft APIs, messaging services and integrations, including data transformation, routing, error handling, retry mechanisms and message processing.
  • Design & Execute: Define test scenarios, review test cases and oversee execution across application workflows, REST/SOAP APIs, XML/JSON interfaces, databases and integrated systems.
  • Collaborate & Integrate: Work closely with developers, architects, business analysts and delivery teams to understand solution designs, identify integration risks and resolve technical testing challenges.
  • Champion Quality & Automation: Identify opportunities to improve regression coverage, introduce automation and embed effective testing practices within Agile and DevOps delivery processes.
  • Manage Defects & Risks: Lead technical defect investigation, triage and resolution, ensuring issues are clearly documented, prioritised and retested, with risks communicated to the Test Manager.
  • Support UAT & Release Readiness: Coordinate technical support for User Acceptance Testing, ensuring test environments, integration services, test data and supporting evidence are ready for business validation.
  • Mentor & Empower: Provide day-to-day technical guidance to test analysts and engineers, reviewing test deliverables, sharing expertise and promoting consistent quality engineering standards.
  • Measure & Report: Monitor test progress, coverage, defects and quality indicators, providing clear technical reporting and evidence to support test completion and release readiness decisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
