Technical Trainer

We're supporting a leading defence engineering business in their search for a Technical Trainer to join their Aftermarket Services team in Norwich.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a field service, electronics, or electro-mechanical background who enjoys sharing knowledge and working directly with customers. You'll play a key role in developing and delivering technical training programmes for advanced defence systems, both in the UK and internationally.

Core Duties

  • Designing, developing, and delivering technical training courses for specialist equipment and systems
  • Producing training materials, manuals, presentations, and supporting documentation
  • Delivering both classroom-based and practical hands-on training
  • Conducting trainee assessments and evaluating competency levels
  • Acting as a technical support subject matter expert for customer queries
  • Working closely with project teams to ensure training aligns with customer requirements
  • Producing training reports and feedback documentation
  • Building strong customer relationships and providing a high level of technical support
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of training programmes and materials
  • Maintaining technical competence through ongoing collaboration with Field Service Engineers

About You

  • HNC, HND, ONC, or Degree qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven field service, maintenance, or technical support experience
  • Strong understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, or digital systems
  • Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and fault-finding documentation
  • Confident delivering presentations and communicating with customers at all levels
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Flexible and comfortable with UK and international travel
  • Full UK Driving Licence and valid passport
  • Previous experience delivering technical training would be highly advantageous
  • Background within defence, marine, military, or complex engineering equipment would be beneficial
