Location: Home-based, UK (with occasional travel to London office)

Reports to: Training Delivery Team Lead

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: (Depending on experience)

Role Overview

Cambridge Spark is looking for a Data Analytics Trainer to deliver our gold-standard data and digital transformation programmes. You will have the exciting opportunity to deliver training across a diverse portfolio of multiple apprenticeship programmes and bespoke corporate training engagements.

You’ll lead practical, hands-on workshops that empower professionals to confidently interpret data, generate predictive insights, and build robust analytical models. Working across funded apprenticeships and corporate clients, you’ll ensure that all programmes meet high standards for learner engagement, applied workplace impact, and real-world relevance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver data-related curriculum as your primary focus, while also leading core data modules across our wider portfolio of apprenticeship pathways and executing specialised corporate training engagements tailored to client needs.
  • Facilitate intensive technical sessions covering Python for data analysis, focusing heavily on libraries like Pandas and NumPy for practical data manipulation and wrangling.
  • Deliver engaging, hands-on workshops enabling learners to apply forecasting techniques to temporal data and utilise supervised/unsupervised machine learning models (using Scikit-Learn) for business analytics.
  • Teach learners how to query databases efficiently using SQL and visualise their analytical findings using Python-based libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly).
  • Guide learners through data storytelling, identifying KPIs, stakeholder management, and translating complex predictive insights into actionable business strategy.
  • Facilitate high-quality, interactive training sessions via virtual platforms (our primary model), while maintaining the pedagogical flexibility to travel to client sites or hubs for face-to-face workshops when requested.
  • Partner with Product Managers to provide technical feedback on resources and utilise allocated time to refine learning activities, build practical Python/ML data scenarios, and keep materials updated with industry changes.
  • Implement standardisation processes defined by the Quality Team and maintain technical expertise across the modern Python data stack and workplace analytics adoption patterns.

Candidate Specification

Essential

  • Exceptional hands-on experience and a strong conceptual understanding of Python specifically applied to data analysis (Pandas, NumPy).
  • Proven capability to build and teach foundational predictive models and machine learning workflows for data analysis (e.g., regressions, clustering, classification using Scikit-Learn).
  • Practical working knowledge of forecasting and analysing temporal data sets to extract trends and seasonal insights.
  • Strong capability in writing and teaching SQL, including joins, subqueries, and data extraction techniques.
  • Proven capability to teach data storytelling and the translation of statistical or programmatic insights into accessible business strategy.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to act as a "translator" between complex programmatic concepts and non-technical operational business staff.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
