Location: Peterborough (with UK-wide travel)
Contract: Full time, Permanent
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Trainer to join a growing team. This role is primarily based in Peterborough, delivering internal training, with regular travel across the UK to support customer training requirements.
The Role
As a Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programmes for both employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver structured training programmes aligned with business needs and individual development plans
- Collaborate with the Management Team to identify training objectives
- Create high-quality training materials, including:
- PowerPoint presentations
- Written manuals and handouts
- eLearning content
- Deliver training on the operation, programming, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment
- Act as a subject matter expert in digital systems and telematics, including customer support and route recording
- Provide technical advice and support to internal teams and external customers
- Schedule and coordinate training sessions in line with company and group guidelines
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure certification is issued promptly
- Continuously update training content to reflect product developments and innovations
- Support warranty procedures from a technical perspective
- Coordinate external training programmes (e.g. CPC and statutory training)
- Ensure compliance with City & Guilds quality assurance standards

About You
Technical Experience:
- Background in a specialist vehicle, agricultural, or similar technical field
- Strong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Hands-on experience with diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of machinery
- Experience delivering training across operator to technical levels
- Skilled in producing technical documentation and training materials
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Personal Qualities:
- Strong communicator and relationship builder
- Positive, proactive, and solution-focused approach
- Organised with excellent attention to detail
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
- Collaborative team player
Qualifications:
- Formal training in vehicle or agricultural equipment (or similar)
- Training in electrical and hydraulic disciplines
- Teaching or training qualifications (desirable but not essential)
