The Opportunity

EnerMech is seeking an experienced Technical Training & Competency Manager to lead the implementation, embedding and continuous improvement of our global technical training and competency framework.

This is a highly visible global role that combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, ensuring our workforce has the technical skills, competence and capability required to safely deliver complex energy projects across every region and business line.

Working closely with operational leaders, QHSE, subject matter experts and regional teams, you will drive consistency in competency assurance, technical training and workforce capability, supporting safe operations, workforce mobility and operational excellence worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of EnerMech's global technical training and competency framework.
  • Drive consistency in technical training, competency assessments and capability assurance across all business lines and regions.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify workforce capability gaps and develop targeted training solutions.
  • Maintain oversight of technical competencies, certifications, qualifications and workforce compliance to ensure operational readiness.
  • Develop and enhance competency frameworks, assessment processes and technical standards for safety-critical roles.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators relating to competency assurance, training compliance and workforce capability.
  • Support mobilisation activities, client audits and tender submissions by ensuring personnel meet mandatory competency requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external training providers and industry partners while promoting a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant experience in technical training, competency management or workforce capability within the energy, engineering or industrial services sectors.
  • Proven experience implementing competency assurance frameworks for technical and operational workforces.
  • Hands-on experience delivering technical training and facilitating competency assessments.
  • Strong understanding of competency frameworks, certification management, workforce compliance and technical capability assurance.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and competency management platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, with the ability to engage global operational leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting workforce capability data and producing meaningful management reports.
  • A degree, diploma or equivalent experience in Training, Engineering, Operations or a related discipline. A recognised training and assessment qualification is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to support business operations and global initiatives.
