This is an opportunity to join a growing team in a modern, flexible working environment. This role suits a detail-oriented and technically minded Technical Writer to produce high-quality technical documentation that supports engineering, architecture, and governance activities.
The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams to develop clear, accurate, and well-structured documentation, including option papers, low-level design (LLD) documents, technical authority submissions, and supporting technical artefacts. The role requires the ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into documentation suitable for technical stakeholders, governance boards, and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to organisational standards.
- Develop option papers that clearly present technical solutions, business considerations, risks, assumptions, and recommendations.
- Create detailed low-level design (LLD) documentation to support infrastructure, networking, cloud, and application implementations.
- Prepare technical authority submissions, ensuring documentation is complete, evidence-based, and aligned with governance requirements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and technical subject matter experts to gather information and validate technical content.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, structured, and professional documentation.
- Maintain document templates, standards, and version control.
- Review and edit technical documents for clarity, consistency, grammar, and compliance with organisational documentation standards.

Essential Skills
- Degree in Technical Communication, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer within an IT, infrastructure, cloud, engineering, or technology environment.
- Strong understanding of technical terminology relating to infrastructure, cloud services, networking, and enterprise IT.
- Excellent written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to organise information logically and present complex technical concepts clearly.
- Experience managing multiple documentation deliverables across concurrent projects.
- Experience working within a secure, regulated environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills
- Experience using Confluence for technical documentation and knowledge management.
- Understanding of architecture documentation frameworks and governance processes.
- Familiarity with diagramming tools such as Visio.
- Knowledge of IT service management or enterprise architecture practices.
