About The Role and Team
Quantum Motion is a fast-growing quantum computing scale-up based in London founded by internationally renowned researchers from UCL and Oxford University with over 40 years’ experience in developing qubits and quantum computing architectures. Bringing together state-of-the-art cryogenic facilities and an outstanding interdisciplinary team, we are developing quantum processors based on industrial-grade silicon chips, with the potential to radically transform computing power in areas such as materials modelling, medicine, artificial intelligence and more.
Our Team
Since 2021 our team has been listed every year in the “Top 100 Startups worth watching” in the EE Times, and our technology breakthroughs have been featured in The Telegraph, BBC and the New Statesman. Our founders are internationally renowned researchers from UCL and Oxford University who have pioneered the development of qubits and quantum computing architectures. Our chairman is the co-founder of Cadence and Synopsys, the two leading companies in the area of Electronic Design Automation. We’re backed by a team of top-tier investors, and we have recently closed our Series C funding of $160 million.
We bring together the brightest quantum engineers, integrated circuit (IC) engineers, quantum computing theoreticians and software engineers to create a unique, world-leading team, working together closely to maximise our combined expertise. Our team of 100+ is based in Oxford and London, with a centre of mass in our Islington lab.
Functions of the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join Quantum Motion's newly established Marketing team as one of its founding team members. Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, you'll have the autonomy to shape our technical storytelling, influence our content strategy, and make a meaningful impact from day one. Working cross-functionally with Product, R&D, Business Development, and leadership, you'll bring our breakthrough technology to life through compelling, high-impact content that inspires customers, partners, investors, and the wider quantum community.

In this role, you will:
- Transform innovation into compelling stories by collaborating with the Product team to create engaging technical articles, benchmark reports, application notes, and white papers that showcase the performance and capabilities of Quantum Motion's technology.
- Bring our science to life by partnering with world-class researchers and engineers to communicate technological breakthroughs, research milestones, and our long-term vision through clear, accessible, and inspiring narratives.
- Enable commercial success by working with the Marketing and Business Development team to create persuasive customer success stories, testimonials, use cases, and application-focused content that demonstrates the real-world impact of our technology and supports strategic customer engagement.
- Shape our voice across every channel by contributing technical expertise to press releases, website content, social media, executive communications, presentations, thought leadership articles, and integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring every piece of content is scientifically accurate, engaging, and aligned with our brand.
- Build Quantum Motion's reputation as a global leader by translating complex quantum computing concepts into compelling content that educates, inspires, and positions the company at the forefront of one of the world's most exciting emerging technologies.
Experience - Essentials
- Master's degree or PhD in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or another closely related technical discipline.
- Proven experience within an industry setting, preferred within a scale-up company
- Proven experience in technical writing with exceptional copywriting and editorial skills, producing clear, engaging, and accurate technical content.
- Native-level or highly proficient written and spoken English, with excellent attention to detail and editorial quality.
- Ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and translate them into compelling content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience managing content projects independently, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders including Product, R&D, Marketing, Business Development, and leadership.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple content projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
- A proactive, self-starting mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to create content that supports product launches, customer engagement, and broader business objectives.

Experience - Desirable
- Experience writing about quantum computing, quantum technologies, advanced physics, semiconductors, hardware manufacturing, or other deep-tech industries.
- Experience developing technical marketing content such as white papers, benchmark reports, customer case studies, application notes, thought leadership articles, and technical blogs.
- Passion for science and technology, with a natural curiosity and enthusiasm for making complex innovations accessible and engaging to diverse audiences.
