About The Role
Technician
This full-time post is available from 1st November 2026 on a fixed term basis until 30th June 2028. Applications for secondments will be considered subject to agreement from your current line manager.
The starting salary will be from £30,878 on Grade D, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.

The University wishes to recruit a Research Technician to work alongside PI Naomi Gatis and Co-Is Alan Puttock, Diego Panici and Richard Brazier. This role will contribute to a NERC funded project entitled Return of the beaver: adapting and mitigating climate-induced hydrological extremes building on a suite of novel and impactful beaver research already undertaken at the University of Exeter. The successful candidate will collect, process and manage high-quality empirical datasets across multiple field sites.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in the field collecting high quality empirical data; be keen to learn new techniques, gain new knowledge, skills and experience as well as a genuine interest in the outcome of the project. They must also be able to demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively with teams of researchers and must be motivated by the opportunity to contribute to research.

The post holder will demonstrate an ability to undertake laboratory and field research, including ensuring safe working practices through training and risk assessments, managing inventories of materials and chemicals, and purchasing laboratory supplies.
