A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Art, DT and Food Technician to join a high-achieving secondary academy in Hackney.
This Art, DT and Food Technician role would suit somebody who enjoys working in a busy school environment, supporting practical lessons and ensuring Art, Design Technology and Food Technology departments are fully prepared for learning every day.
ABOUT THE ART, DT AND FOOD TECHNICIAN ROLE
The successful Art, DT and Food Technician will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students across the Art, DT and Food Technology departments.
Duties Include
- Preparing classrooms, workshops and kitchens for practical lessons
- Setting up equipment, tools and teaching resources
- Maintaining stock levels and ordering materials when required
- Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons
- Cleaning, maintaining and organising equipment and workspaces
- Ensuring workshops and kitchens meet health and safety standards
- Managing specialist tools, machinery and food preparation resources
- Assisting with displays and exhibitions of students work

THE SUCCESSFUL ART, DT AND FOOD TECHNICIAN WILL HAVE
- Experience working as an Art, DT and Food Technician or in a similar school-based role
- Ideally, experience working within a secondary school
- The ability to work effectively alongside teachers and students
- Good organisational and communication skills
- A reliable, proactive and practical approach
- The ability to commit to a full-time role from 2nd September
- The ability to travel to Hackney on a daily basis
