Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Technician role based at Perrys Motor Sales Ltd in Doncaster. The Technician will carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on a range of vehicles, following manufacturer standards and internal quality procedures. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Performing diagnostics using modern tools and equipment
  • Conducting safety inspections
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT testing where applicable

  • Helping ensure high levels of workshop efficiency

The Technician will contribute to a safe, well-organized working environment and support Perrys’ reputation for reliable, customer-focused aftersales service.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, and fault diagnosis using modern diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience performing safety inspections, preparing vehicles for MOTs, and working to manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, service schedules, and repair procedures accurately.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with colleagues and explaining technical issues in clear terms to customers.
  • Strong attention to detail, time-management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment.
  • Relevant automotive technician/vehicle maintenance qualification (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent) and valid driving license.
  • Prior experience in a franchised dealership or similar workshop environment is beneficial.
  • Commitment to health and safety best practices and ongoing professional development in automotive technology.
