Job title: Technician
Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience + Benefits
Location: Isle of Wight
Based: On site
Are you a hands-on technician with a passion for advanced manufacturing and engineering innovation? We are seeking a Technician to support the operation of our new large structures innovation centre on the Isle of Wight, working at the forefront of technology and manufacturing development for large structures.
This is an exciting opportunity to be one of the founding members of a growing team, supporting a wide range of research, development and manufacturing activities. Alongside day-to-day technical responsibilities, we are looking for someone with the ambition and potential to develop into a future Technician Team Lead or Workshop Manager role as the facility expands.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the safe operation of manufacturing equipment, tooling and facilities
- Assist engineers in delivering projects
- Help maintain high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping
- Contribute to process improvements, problem-solving activities and the development of new manufacturing methods for large structures

So, what are we looking for?
- Technical Expertise: Proven ability to analyse and improve engineering processes and methods in complex and non-complex contexts.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong diagnostic skills to identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Safety Leadership: Experience of promoting and implementing safe working practices and conducting risk assessments. Experience working with, and supporting, junior technicians and apprentices.
- Innovation Mindset: Demonstrable ability to contribute to the development of new technologies, methods, or processes.
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in documenting technical outcomes and conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences. Experience dealing with contractors, inter-departmental communication
- Computer Literacy: Proficient with Microsoft Office software and experience using it in a workplace setting.
- Flexibility: Able to work on and off shifts, able to move working hours to suit project needs.
- Composites Manufacturing: Composites manufacturing experience is required.
