Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside skilled and collaborative teammates.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the operational and safety performance standards of the 22X fleet are met. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (maintenance, diagnostics, and compliance), conduct detailed inspections of train systems, and much more.
We’ll look to you for:
- Carrying out component replacements and system adjustments.
- Ensuring the 22X fleet meets operational and safety performance standards.
- Acting as an Authorised Person in maintenance and repair activities.
- Conducting detailed inspections of train systems, including electrical, mechanical, and software-based systems.
- Identifying and rectifying faults using root cause analysis techniques.
- Recording defects and corrective actions in maintenance management systems.
- Interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.
- Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

- Level 3 NVQ in an Electrical Engineering Discipline
- Experience in a Rolling Stock Engineering environment
- Knowledge of a variety of train systems including Electrical, Mechanical and Software. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with condition monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with SES (Smart Execution System) or similar production systems as well as MS Office packages
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
