About The Role
Technician - Pipefitter
Permanent position
Inchinnan, Glasgow
The Role
The Mechanical Pipefitter is responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, repairing, and testing of small-bore piping systems. This role exists to ensure the safe and efficient operation of piping systems in various industrial settings. The Mechanical Pipefitter will play a key role in interpreting blueprints, planning piping system layouts, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, maintain, and test small-bore piping systems in accordance with engineering specifications, drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and procedures.
- Conduct inspections and tests to ensure the integrity and functionality of piping systems.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of piping systems into overall projects.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Provide training and guidance to junior pipefitters and other staff.
- Prepare detailed reports on piping system installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Adhering to strict safety regulations, permits to work, risk assessments, and PPE.
- A flexible approach to working is required as travel to client or customer sites, including overseas visits, may be required.

Key Skills, Knowledge And Experience
- Swagelok & Parker Certification would be advantageous.
- Experience of working to marine, defence standards and/or Lloyds Rules.
- Experience of either Subsea, Offshore, or Defence engineering projects would be an advantage.
- Experience of valves, pumps, regulators & compressors, including high-pressure systems.
- This position is within the defence sector; therefore, you will need to be able to pass security clearance for this role.
