Job title – Quality Control Technician

Location – Thirsk, UK

Job model – On Site (Shift Pattern: Week One - 06:00-14:30 / Week Two - 08:00-16:30)

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Sample Preparation for Internal and External Analysis
  • Perform chemical procedures and physical measurements (wet chemistry): Titrations, water content, optical rotation and other standard tests
  • Set up Sensory Panels
  • Be an active member of the Sensory Panel
  • Perform Batch release/rejection
  • Perform Equipment calibration
  • Support non-conformity: customer linked analytical/ sensory profile, supplier non-conformity
  • Respect health, safety, hygiene, quality and environmental rules applicable on site

You Bring

  • BSc in scientific related field, such as biochemistry, chemistry, food industry OR relevant similar minimum 3 years’ experience in quality control.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate with diverse stakeholders
  • Rigorous and data-driven, able to make decisions autonomously and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in IT skills (MS Office suite, LIMS, SAP, etc.)
  • Technically proficient/ knowledgeable in the following chemical procedures and physical measurements (wet chemistry): Water content, Salt content, Optical rotation and other standard tests
  • Knowledge of quality management systems desired (FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14000)
  • Fluent in English
