To support the work of providing technical assistance to the food and beverage manufacturing sector in Wales, we are looking for two technical professionals to join the ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre. In this role, you will work with food and beverage manufacturers and wider industry stakeholders to share knowledge, improve food safety and quality practices, and support continuous improvement across the sector.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with businesses, industry partners, and the ZERO2FIVE Technical Team, helping organizations develop technical capability while contributing to the growth and success of the food and beverage industry in Wales.
Key Role Involvement
- Introduce best practices in food safety and quality through technical assistance and knowledge transfer.
- Identify improvement opportunities by analyzing gaps and internal audits.
- Provide guidance on technical compliance, food safety requirements, and third-party accreditation, including BRCGS and SALSA.
- Support the development, validation, and launch of new food products and processes in accordance with legislation and quality standards.
- Manage and mentor worksites to achieve agreed technical objectives and program outputs.
- Represent ZERO2FIVE at events, conferences, and exhibitions, supporting business development initiatives, training, and continuous professional development.
Your Contribution
- You will bring practical technical experience in the food manufacturing sector across at least two product categories, along with a solid understanding of food legislation, quality management systems, and regulatory compliance. You will be comfortable working collaboratively with businesses and stakeholders, helping to identify improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions.

- Your communication skills will enable you to foster effective relationships with partners at all levels, while your analytical approach will support the preparation of technical reports, audits, and assessments. You will be organized and flexible, capable of managing competing priorities to meet deadlines.
Additionally, You Will Have
- A degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Food Science or Food Technology), along with HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety in Manufacturing Level 3 qualifications, or equivalent experience in the food manufacturing field.
- Experience in supporting or leading preparation activities for third-party audits and compliance activities.
- Experience in data analysis and writing reports in the food sector.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative problem-solving approach, and a commitment to teamwork, confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
- Willingness to travel regularly and attend events nationally and internationally.
