Your Role in the JoJo Story…
You will be responsible for the quality and compliance of selected ranges we produce under the JoJo brand. You will own key departments and suppliers and will cover development from initial research to production deliver. You will manage and coordinate response as required to customer queries and complaints, bringing to a satisfactory close. You will ensuring the technical department delivers to schedule and to the standard required. Ranges covered will include childrenswear; baby & children’s nursery products and toys; and women’s and maternity wear as required for business needs.

Understand the goals of our Technical Strategy and considers implementation in their own areas.

Technical Documentation
- Ensures technical workbooks and associated paperwork is filed and trackers are updated inline with agreed system.
- Ensures accuracy of specification sheets and grading at issuing, with aim to drive a right first-time fitting approach.
- Conducts and documents appropriate risk assessments inline with agreed standards, ensures supplier is clear on product safety requirements.
- Ensure required warnings and information is in place on labelling & packaging to ensure compliance with appropriate legislative requirements.

Product Development and Critical Path
- Drives the fit session ensuring product is properly assessed for excellence of make and fit, clear comments are recorded, and the final product sealed meets the specification.
- Attending team production meetings to ensure Critical Path is on track for own product areas and those covered by more junior techs. Alert Technical Manager on any risks to delivery.
- Assess failed test reports on our testing platform, determines commercial approval or recommend further action required.
- Ensures products are compliant to hazardous chemical policies, risk assessing and testing as appropriate.
- Ensures suppliers are clear on and working inline with Technical Handbooks and Technical Policies.

Product Knowledge
- Demonstrates a core understanding of different fabrics, materials types and trims, and testing procedures. Understands application on final product, suitability for final product and user. Can make recommendation at issuing and during product development.
- Maintains fabric library, ensures consistency across suppliers.
- Drive block & grading reviews to ensure excellence of fit across the sizes inline with our customer and brand. Makes informed decisions on updates, cascading to suppliers and other techs as appropriate.
- Utilises tools such as reviews, store feedback and returns reports to identify issues and action change.
- Monitors changes to standards and regulations on own products. Alerts Technical Manager to any changes that may impact or affect JoJo product groups.

- Supplier and Factory Management
- Ensures effective onboarding of a new supplier; ensures the agreed processes are followed, the supplier is clear on expectations and they meet the minimum requirements of our technical standards. All trackers are up to date.
- All new factories to be approved by Technical Manager prior to PO's being placed.
- Travels to our factories, and conducts virtual visits to assess technical capabilities and their suitability to JoJo requirements, make recommendations to improve feeding back to buying and technical.
- Builds good working relationship with key suppliers through general contact, product specific communication, and has good working knowledge of their quality management processes and capabilities.
Skills that Make You Shine:
- Work effectively with E&S to ensure effective cross over of goals, targets and communication.
- Ensures any green claims or claims on sustainability can be traced and evidenced.
- Supports Sustainability team as appropriate and required on supplier queries.
- Supports Ethical team as appropriate and required on supplier queries, working collaboratively on agreed ways of working for onboarding and maintenance.
- Consciously aiming to improve our environmental impact in own department, actively engaging with suppliers as required to identify areas of improvement and working with sustainability team and buying to see changes through.
- Understands Customer Service and QC operations. Supports resolutions of issues as required, either directly or via the Senior Technologist and Technical Manager. Travels as required to the DC to check stock.
- Support more junior members of the team, be proactive in approach and look for opportunities to improve product and processes.
- Represents JoJo externally on behalf of Technical at meetings or events, feeding back to Technical Team.
