The Role

A highly autonomous Technologist driving the technical delivery of dairy and non-dairy innovation projects—from concept through pilot and factory trials. This role plays a critical part in shaping customer solutions, advancing product development, and supporting business growth through technical expertise and collaboration.

Reporting to the UK Development Manager, the Technologist (Dairy/Non-Dairy) will:

  • Lead end-to-end [product and process development] for dairy and non-dairy applications
  • Manage customer projects, support innovation initiatives, and ensure successful scale-up via pilot trials and factory testing
  • Combine technical expertise, project ownership, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver commercially viable solutions

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and deliver customer projects across dairy and non-dairy applications
  • Develop new products and technologies, including both "me-too" improvements and innovative concepts
  • Plan, execute, and support pilot plant and factory trials for product and process scale-up
  • Provide technical consultation to UK and international customers
  • Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, trials, and development activities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, purchasing, quality, and development teams to deliver projects and resolve issues
  • Contribute to cost optimization, raw material substitution, and continuous improvement efforts

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (Bachelors) or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
  • Relevant experience in dairy and/or non-dairy product development
  • Hands-on expertise with pilot plant and factory-scale trials
  • Strong knowledge of food systems, ingredients, and processing techniques
  • Experience supporting customer-facing technical projects
