MATERNITY COVER contract with the potential to turn into a permanent position.
Reporting to our Technical Manager, we are looking for a technologist to become part of our team of Avocado experts. Focussing on compliance from our world class supply partners, you will have responsibility for the management of grower due diligence, forming the critical link between our growers and customers and therefore you will be an organised and effective communicator. The opportunity to learn about the technical aspects of our product from post- harvest controls through the entire supply chain, to the sophisticated ripening process in our new state of the art facilities, will appeal to you and present a great foundation for future progression. This could be a good career move for someone with either relevant experience in a similar role looking to get into the very fast paced & exciting growth category that is Avocados, or someone with some fresh produce industry experience looking for their first step into a technical role, we can tailor the training and package to suit. What you must bring is not only great attention to detail when managing data, but also energy, enthusiasm and a thirst to learn new things.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
