This is a developing role suited to someone who communicates clearly, enjoys helping others and can turn technology into straightforward, role-relevant learning. The Trainer will work closely with colleagues across the firm, gather feedback and help users adopt new tools confidently, effectively and responsibly.
The role will primarily be based in our central Manchester office but will require occasional travel to our London and Liverpool offices.
Key Responsibilities

- Support the Technology Learning and Adoption Team Leads and Team Manager in delivering the firm’s technology learning and AI adoption plans.
- Provide practical support for the adoption of AI tools, helping colleagues move from initial awareness to confident, effective and responsible use.
- Work with legal teams and business services to understand learning needs, gather examples and help develop relevant AI and technology use cases.
- Administer and maintain the LMS and manage training logistics and learner records.
- Support both Lead roles with campaigns and projects.
- Create and maintain high-quality learning materials, including guides, e-learning modules, videos, communications, prompt examples and practical exercises.
- Co-ordinate learning schedules and communications.
- Regular review and updating of existing training material.
- Promote safe and responsible AI use in line with firm policies, confidentiality obligations, information security requirements and professional standards.
- Support AI champions and subject matter contacts by sharing resources, gathering feedback and encouraging peer learning.
- Assist with technology pilots and new releases by delivering learning, preparing communications, recording feedback and completing agreed follow-up actions.
- Monitor attendance, assessments and feedback, maintain accurate records and highlight themes or barriers to the Team Leads and Team Manager.
- Provide one-to-one and group support to help colleagues use Microsoft 365, AI and legal technology effectively.
- Produce regular technology tips, demonstrations and engagement content that encourage continuous learning and effective use of available tools.
- Keep up to date with developments in AI, Microsoft 365, learning methods and legal technology, sharing useful updates with the team.
- Work collaboratively with other relevant teams within the IT Department, escalating questions or concerns when appropriate.
- Maintain learning records and update the Learning Management System accurately and promptly.
- Carry out other reasonable learning and adoption activities agreed with the Team Leads and Team Manager.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
