Location: Orwell, Cambridge
Permanent Position
Are you an experienced Software Engineer with a strong interest in AI and emerging technology, looking for an opportunity where you can have a genuine impact across an entire business?
At Accora, we're looking for a Technology & AI Engineer to help us develop how we use AI, software and technology across our business.
This isn't a role where you'll simply be handed a list of development tasks. We're looking for someone proactive who can understand how different areas of our business operate, identify problems and opportunities, and develop practical technology-led solutions.
Please note: You MUST already be eligible to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
The Role
Accora is investing heavily in AI and technology, and we're looking for an experienced engineer to play a key role in developing our internal technology capabilities.
You'll work across the business to understand how teams operate, identify opportunities for improvement and then design, develop and implement solutions.
This could include:
- Developing and improving internal software and applications
- Building and implementing AI-led solutions
- Automating manual processes and workflows
- Improving systems, integrations and reporting
- Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Identifying technology-led improvements across the business
- Developing, testing and deploying new solutions
- Supporting wider technology and AI projects

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The key is understanding why an improvement is needed, not just the technology behind it.
You'll need to be comfortable speaking with non-technical colleagues, understanding their challenges and translating these into practical solutions.
We're a fast-moving business, so you'll also need to be adaptable, comfortable with changing priorities and confident taking ownership of projects and seeing them through.

Experience within a start-up, scale-up, SME or other fast-moving environment would be particularly interesting, especially if you've worked in a role where you've had broad responsibility and been expected to identify and solve problems independently.
Just as importantly, we're looking for the right person.
You'll need to be proactive, adaptable and comfortable taking ownership. Someone who follows things through, responds well to feedback, communicates effectively across teams and continually looks for ways to improve how things are done.
What's On Offer
- Extensive training and development
- Opportunity to work across AI, software and emerging technologies
- Join a growing business investing heavily in AI and technology
- Work on projects that have a genuine impact across the business
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer who wants more ownership and influence than a traditional development role.
You'll have the opportunity to work across the business, identify where technology can make a difference and play a key role in shaping how Accora uses AI and software as we continue to grow.
If you're looking for a role where you can build, experiment, solve problems and have a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.
