The Team You Will Join

What You’ll Be Doing
We don’t expect you to come straight in and know everything about what we do.
As an intern, and whatever you’re studying, we’ll help make sure you get the most out of your time with us. Fidelity is a fantastic place to learn, innovate and grow. There are expert colleagues around the world to learn from and share ideas with.
During the 10 week summer programme, you could have the opportunity to work on the below:
- Trading Systems: experience how Order Management Systems operate and how the Trading Life Cycle works in the heart of Financial Services Industry, working with the Technology and Change teams to implement strategic change
- Research, Risk and Data Analytics: work with the data that drives industry decisions and experience where responsible AI tooling is being brought to bear in Portfolio Manager toolsets.
- Real Estate and Alternative Products: be part of Tech & Ops teams launching and managing alternative products within the Fund Services space, bringing efficiencies and standardisation to bespoke processes

How You’ll Be Supported
You’ll start with a welcome and an orientation, where you’ll meet your fellow interns and find out all about us and our work. Once the programme begins, you’ll learn every day – from the experts around you and through tackling real projects. Our focus will be on supporting you to gain experience and discover what kind of future you could build in our industry. Support is part of our culture, so you’ll have a buddy and a mentor to help you whenever you need. And you’ll join a close-knit early careers community, with plenty of social and networking events to help you find your feet and feel at home.
What We Look For
It’s who you are that matters here, rather than what you studied.
We look for interns who are analytical, eager to learn and ready to take on a challenge. A genuine curiosity and eagerness to learn is necessary, as is a lively interest in our work and our industry. Interest in Data, Automation and Process Mapping is vital.
Areas Where Prior Experience Would Be Very Beneficial
- Software development using languages such as Python, Java, C++, JavaScript or similar technologies
- Data structures, algorithms and problem-solving skills, coupled with SQL and data querying capabilities
- Agile ways of working, software testing, quality engineering and continuous improvement practices.
- AI Fluency and able to leverage AI to analyse data, identify patterns and generate insights.

- be graduating from your current academic programme in 2028

This programme is open to students who will finish their current academic programme in 2028.
Our application window closes on Sunday 20th December 2026 at 11:55pm GMT.
Please note that we recruit on a rolling basis, and so an early application is encouraged. Assessment centres will take place in February and March 2027.
Please note that there are online assessments which you’ll need to complete fully by the time the window closes. They take around 40 minutes to complete, so make sure you give yourself plenty of time.
