Our client is a leading global independent investment banking advisory firm that provides strategic advice on mergers, acquisitions (M&A), restructurings, and capital raising. It is seeking to hire (as a brand new role) an experienced Technology and Commercial Lawyer to join its Legal team in London at Director level, supporting technology, outsourcing, third-party risk, cybersecurity, data privacy and AI matters across its international operations.
You will draft, review and negotiate technology, outsourcing, cloud/SaaS and data processing agreements, advising on complex vendor relationships and the evolving regulatory landscape facing global financial institutions.

Key responsibilities:
- Negotiate vendor agreements, including outsourcing, cloud/SaaS, licensing and data processing agreements
- Advise on UK/EU third-party risk, operational resilience and outsourcing frameworks
- Support contractual and regulatory work on AI, cloud computing and emerging technology
- Advise on UK/EU GDPR compliance and international data transfers
- Track regulatory developments from the FCA, EBA and European Commission
- Contribute to templates and know-how across sourcing and technology matters
What we're looking for:
- A qualified solicitor with at least 5 years' PQE with strong technology and commercial contracts experience
- Familiarity with DORA implementation, ICT arrangements and operational resilience
- Strong grounding in UK/EU GDPR, technology/cloud outsourcing and AI regulation
- Excellent communicator, able to translate legal complexity for non-legal stakeholders
- Proactive and collaborative, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment

This is a unique position with significant autonomy, responsible for UK and European legal advice. As part of a global legal function, you will form part of a growing business that has recently hired two other lawyers into new roles alongside this recently created position.
