Excellent opportunity for a commercially minded technology lawyer to join this UK listed business (FTSE 100) in a permanent capacity. There is opportunity to work from home with only occasional travel to the offices for meetings.
This is a high-impact legal role at the heart of the organisation's future growth, with responsibility for providing legal advice and support on technology, Intellectual Property (IP) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data protection matters affecting the business.
Partnering with executives, senior leaders, engineers, technologists and legal colleagues across all divisions/business lines, the successful candidate will be responsible for the negotiation of complex technology collaboration agreements, development of intellectual property terms and ensuring the Group's awareness of, and compliance with, emerging AI legislation as well as the Group's data protection framework and connected policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
- 8 years+ qualified lawyer with significant in-house and top-tier law firm experience
- Substantial experience advising on technology matters, including technology development and collaboration agreements, grant funding, licensing, M&A, rights enforcement, disputes and patent prosecution
- Experience of advising on complex data protection matters and ideally experience in establishing or enhancing data protection frameworks and advising on complex intellectual property risks, opportunities and transactions
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to develop a sound understanding of diverse and emerging technologies, enabling confident engagement with engineers, technologists and other subject-matter experts
- The ability to operate independently on significant matters, prioritise effectively, manage competing demands and multiple stakeholders, and recognise when support or escalation is required.
