The Technology Enablement function sits within our Applications team at Lewis Silkin. This is made up of Product, Data & Architecture and Finance Transformation as well as Technology Enablement.

Technology Enablement exists to turn ideas into practical outcomes.

The team works with legal and business teams across the firm to identify opportunities, shape solutions, drive adoption of AI and automation, govern citizen development, and support client-facing technology platforms. Its goal is to ensure colleagues can access the right technology, in the right way, to improve efficiency, client experience and business value. The team acts as the bridge between business needs and technology delivery, helping move demand into scalable, supportable solutions.

About the role

We are seeking a Technology Enablement Partner to join our Technology Enablement function. This is a collaborative, business-facing role that works closely with Practice Groups and Business Teams to help them realise value from technology, AI and automation. The role combines business partnering, problem solving, solution shaping and hands-on enablement.

Working in close partnership with Business Managers, Business Improvement, Project Management, Change and Technology colleagues, the Technology Enablement Partner will help understand business priorities, identify opportunities, shape practical solutions and support their successful delivery, adoption and embedding.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborative business partnering and opportunity shaping

  • Build trusted relationships with Practice Groups, Business Teams and the Change Team.
  • Understand business priorities, operational challenges and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify where technology, AI, automation or better use of existing platforms can improve outcomes.
  • Facilitate discovery conversations. and shape ideas into clear options, recommendations and next steps.
  • Help prioritise opportunities based on value, risk, effort, capacity and alignment with firm priorities.

Solution leadership and delivery route

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to lead opportunities from initial idea through to delivery, adoption and value realisation.
  • Assess the best delivery route: self-serve, Partner-led configuration, Specialist build, Development team delivery or other Technology team involvement.
  • Design practical solutions using approved technology, AI, automation and low-code/no-code capabilities wherever appropriate.
  • Deliver simple solutions directly where this is proportionate and within agreed governance.
  • Ensure solutions meet the original business needs and are usable, supportable, and aligned to agreed standards.

Working with Technology Enablement Specialists and development teams

  • Work closely with Technology Enablement Specialists to deliver low-code/no-code builds, automations, AI-enabled workflows, templates and reusable solutions.
  • Hand-off build activity to Technology Enablement Specialists where this is the right route, while remaining closely and collaboratively involved as the business and solution lead.
  • Engage Development, Applications, Data, Architecture or Infrastructure teams where bespoke development, integration, specialist expertise or technical review is required.
  • Stay actively involved during delivery to ensure the design intent, requirements, user experience and expected benefits are maintained.
  • Support testing, rollout and adoption activity so that delivered solutions are embedded successfully.

AI, automation and citizen development

  • Identify and enable opportunities to improve productivity, quality, consistency and client service through AI and automation.
  • Promote a reuse-before-build approach by identifying existing patterns, workflows, templates and solutions that can be adopted or adapted.
  • Create or support reusable AI prompts, workflow templates, automations, guidance and process accelerators that can scale across multiple teams.
  • Advise stakeholders on approved citizen development capabilities and how they can be used safely within agreed governance and support guardrails.
  • Help business users build confidence and capability so appropriate solutions can be maintained and championed closer to the business, in close collaboration with the Technology Enablement function.

Adoption, governance and value realisation

  • Drive adoption of technology-enabled ways of working and support teams through the change from ideas to embedded practice.
  • Define and track expected outcomes, including efficiency, quality, consistency, risk reduction, client service or colleague experience benefits.
  • Ensure solutions are considered against security, risk, confidentiality, data protection, responsible AI and supportability requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with Business Improvement, Project Management and Change teams to ensure seamless outcomes.
  • Share successful patterns and lessons learned across the Technology Enablement function and wider firm.

About you

You will be a curious, pragmatic and collaborative technologist who enjoys solving problems as part of a team. You will be as comfortable in a design discussion with developers, as you are explaining a technical trade-off to a partner in the business, and take real pride in taking the firm forward.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Experience in a business-facing technology, digital, innovation, transformation, product or technology enablement role.
  • Strong relationship-building, facilitation and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and translate business needs into practical solutions.
  • Experience working collaboratively across business and technology teams.
  • Ability to understand and apply technology, AI and automation capabilities to business challenges.
  • Sound judgement in determining the most effective delivery approach, working with Specialists and technical teams where appropriate.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technology options and trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
  • Curious, commercially aware and focused on delivering measurable business value.
  • Experience or capability knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps or Copilot Studio (desirable).
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot, generative AI tools and AI-enabled workflows (desirable).
  • Experience supporting citizen development, self-service technology adoption or business-led automation (desirable).
  • Experience in legal or professional services is advantageous, though candidates from other regulated or knowledge-intensive sectors are also encouraged to apply (desirable).
  • Knowledge of responsible AI, data governance, information security or technology risk management (desirable).
