Technology Infrastructure Strategy Lead

About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Technology Infrastructure Strategy Lead.
Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) is a critical part of HSBC’s Chief Technology Office (CTO), responsible for operating, maintaining, and transforming the on-premise technology infrastructure used to host applications and services. EI's product catalogue includes servers, storage, databases, mainframe, middleware, internal cloud, and automation technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the annual and multi-year strategy cycle for Enterprise Infrastructure, defining the vision, priorities, and strategic roadmaps.
- Translate Group Technology and business strategy into actionable infrastructure transformation initiatives.
- Develop high-quality executive materials, including strategy packs, decision papers, and leadership updates.
- Own the leadership team’s operating rhythm, including regular reviews, strategic deep-dives, and governance forums.
- Track delivery of critical portfolio priorities, identifying dependencies, bottlenecks, risks, and decisions needed to maintain momentum.
- Partner with Transformation & Change and the Chief Operating Office to support investment planning, budget management, and spend transparency.
- Assess infrastructure capacity and capability requirements, supporting workforce planning and resource-allocation decisions.
- Drive productivity, simplification, and continuous improvement across processes, tooling, and organizational design, while building alignment across senior stakeholders.

Requirements
- Ability to shape infrastructure strategy, roadmaps, and transformation plans.
- Understanding of core domains such as compute, storage, databases, cloud, and hybrid operating models.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure strategy in Data Centres.
- Experience tracking delivery, dependencies, risks, issues, and benefits across complex portfolios.
- Confident in producing clear strategy papers, decision materials, and concise leadership updates at the Exco level.
- Capability in investment planning, budget management, prioritization, and spend transparency.
- Analytical and decision-making skills, data-driven approach to identifying priorities, evaluating trade-offs, and managing risk.
- Skilled at bringing together diverse perspectives, creating alignment, and accelerating decisions.
