Technology Lead – AWS & Python
Location: Nottingham, UK
Work Mode: Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite per Week
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technology Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Python development and AWS Cloud services to support the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-based applications.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Python backend development using frameworks such as Django, AWS serverless technologies, API development, and CI/CD pipelines using GitLab Cloud.
The role also requires strong technical design, problem-solving, communication, and Agile delivery skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Python and frameworks such as Django.
- Work with AWS Cloud services, including Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, and AppSync.
- Develop, integrate, and maintain RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services.
- Build, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines using GitLab Cloud.
- Follow software engineering best practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and pair programming.
- Participate in Agile development and delivery activities.
- Contribute to technical design, documentation, and implementation.
- Support knowledge transfer and smooth transition of responsibilities between team members.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Python development.
- Experience with AWS Cloud services.
- AWS Lambda.
- Amazon DynamoDB.
- AWS RDS.
- AWS AppSync.
- RESTful API development and/or GraphQL.
- GitLab Cloud CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes.

Preferred Experience
- Python frameworks such as Django.
- Test-Driven Development (TDD).

- Technical leadership and delivery ownership.
