Up to £94,000 + excellent package
Hybrid – London – 3 days onsite
Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technology Lead to join a high-profile organisation operating at the intersection of technology, health data and scientific research. This is a senior strategic role focused on data linkage, data architecture and digital technologies across science and health. You will identify emerging opportunities, shape major technology and data initiatives and build partnerships across the UK health data ecosystem. The successful candidate will combine strong knowledge of data architecture and linkage with an understanding of the UK health data landscape, alongside the ability to work with senior stakeholders across research, academia, government, funding bodies and technology organisations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the development of strategic initiatives across data linkage, data architecture and digital technologies.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, research programmes and investment opportunities across science and health.
- Develop a strategic view of the evolving UK health data landscape, including key infrastructure, organisations and initiatives.
- Assess existing data and technology programmes and identify opportunities for greater collaboration and impact.
- Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders across health, research, academia, technology and the wider data ecosystem.
- Represent the organisation externally at industry, research and health data forums.
- Provide technical and strategic leadership across digital technology and data-related programmes.
- Shape technical approaches, standards and investment priorities across a portfolio of technology initiatives.
- Provide technical input into funding proposals, RFPs, contracts and major programmes.
- Work closely with technology, research, policy and wider organisational teams to align priorities and deliver shared objectives.
- Matrix manage colleagues and provide leadership across complex, multidisciplinary programmes.
- Oversee programme risks, budgets, governance and the quality of outputs.

Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of data linkage, data architecture and modern digital technologies within science, health or research environments.
- Deep understanding of the UK health data landscape, including key organisations, infrastructure and initiatives.
- Experience working with health, scientific or research data in a technical and/or strategic capacity.
- Strong understanding of data platforms, software systems and technology used within scientific or health research.
- Experience developing data or technology strategies and translating them into practical programmes or initiatives.
- Proven experience managing senior external stakeholders and strategic partnerships.
- Experience working with universities, research organisations, funding bodies, government or similar organisations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess emerging technologies, opportunities, risks and complex technical landscapes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience delivering complex programmes within large or matrix organisations.
- PhD, MD or equivalent level of expertise within a quantitative, computational, clinical, biological, physical science or closely related discipline would be highly desirable.
