Ready to swap long-haul delivery for sharp, high-stakes deal work?
A leading Big Four professional services firm is growing its Technology M&A team by 26+ people this year across London and Manchester, building toward c.100 people within two years. We're hiring across Manager, Senior Manager, Assistant Director and Director level — and we're especially keen to hear from people currently in Technology Transformation, Enterprise Applications or Technology Strategy who've been thinking about a move into deals.
Why make the switch
If you've spent years on multi-year transformation programmes, this is a different rhythm. Deal engagements run in weeks, not years — sharper, more strategic, and commercially exposed in a way long implementation cycles rarely are. You'll move between mandates, work directly with PE and corporate clients under real time pressure, and see the outcome of your work land fast rather than three phases and eighteen months from now. Your transformation or enterprise applications background isn't a mismatch here — it's exactly the grounding that makes for a sharper, more credible voice in the room during diligence and integration planning.
Why this team is different
Most Tech M&A teams stop at due diligence and step away once the deal closes. This one doesn't. You'll be involved across the full transaction lifecycle — pre-deal strategy, technology due diligence, Day 1 planning, integration and separation, and post-deal value creation. It's genuinely end-to-end work, backed by a global platform and a consulting-led model that follows the value chain further than most competitors can.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll be doing
- Assessing IT infrastructure, digital maturity, cloud strategy, cybersecurity posture and scalability as part of deal due diligence
- Building integration and separation blueprints, Transitional Service Agreements, synergy models and PMO deliverables
- Translating technical and transformation experience into commercially relevant insight for senior stakeholders, under deal timelines
- Working alongside Financial, Operational, Commercial and ESG diligence teams
- As you progress: mentoring junior team members, shaping propositions, and helping build out a fast-growing practice
What we're looking for
- Background in Technology Transformation, Enterprise Applications (ERP, cloud platforms, digital operating models) or Technology Strategy, looking to pivot into deals/M&A — or existing technology due diligence/M&A experience
- Comfort with private equity and/or corporate clients, or a strong appetite to work that way
- Solid grounding in IT strategy, enterprise architecture, cyber risk or digital transformation
- Strong communication skills — the ability to make technical and transformation experience land with non-technical, senior audiences
- Adaptability: comfortable moving between fast-paced, time-boxed engagements rather than a single long-running programme
