Description
The Technology Manager will support the delivery of technology projects and business systems across Eastlands Venue Services, helping to improve operational efficiency and support future growth.
Working closely with teams across People, Finance, Operations, Hospitality and Commercial, the role will coordinate technology projects, manage relationships with software suppliers and support the implementation of new systems and process improvements. The role will also manage the relationship with CFG as primary technology service provider to EVSL.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring business systems are reliable, fit for purpose and continue to evolve alongside the needs of the business, whilst working closely with the EPOS Manager on projects impacting Co-op Live's hospitality technology estate.
Day To Day Key Responsibilities
Technology Projects
- Coordinate the delivery of technology projects across software, infrastructure and business systems from planning through to implementation and handover.
- Support system upgrades, software implementations and business change initiatives.
- Work with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate these into practical technology solutions.
- Assist with testing, user acceptance, training and system rollouts.
- Monitor project progress, risks and key milestones, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
Business Systems
- Support the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of business systems across EVSL.
- Work with operational teams to identify opportunities to improve processes through technology.
- Coordinate system enhancements, upgrades and configuration changes with external suppliers.
- Maintain system documentation, user guides and process maps where required.

Supplier & Stakeholder Management
- Build effective working relationships with internal departments and external technology suppliers.
- Coordinate support requests, system changes and issue resolution with third-party providers.
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues where necessary.
- Support contract renewals, system reviews and ongoing supplier engagement.
- Manage the relationship with CFG as EVSL’s primary technology service provider, ensuring appropriate coverage across devices, licenses, support and wider IT services. Lead the annual contract and service review, forecasting requirements and ensuring EVSL receives the appropriate level of provision and value.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual administration and improve system efficiency.
- Support integration projects between business systems where appropriate.
- Assist departments in making better use of existing technology platforms.
- Contribute ideas that improve operational performance and user experience.
Governance & Administration
- Produce and maintain accurate records of business systems, licences, suppliers and key documentation including schedules, risk registers, governance documentation, and status reporting.
- Ensure technology changes are documented and communicated appropriately.
- Support system access reviews and maintain appropriate documentation for technology processes.
- Produce reports on project progress, system performance and improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Previous experience coordinating technology or business system projects.
- Experience working with software suppliers and external stakeholders.
- Good understanding of business systems and technology used within operational environments.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Self-motivated with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies.

Desirable
- Experience within hospitality, retail, events or a customer-facing operational environment.
- Experience implementing or supporting business systems.
- Knowledge of workforce management, finance, procurement or hospitality technology platforms.
- PRINCE 2 practitioner or equivalent project management qualification.
- Experience of ITIL V4.
- Understanding of EPOS or payment technologies.
- Experience working alongside third-party software providers.
