As the Technology Manager - Cloud Operations

You will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing our cloud-based technology infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our cloud systems, guaranteeing high availability, security, and performance. You will lead a team of cloud engineers and collaborate closely with other technology departments to align our cloud strategy with business objectives. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving innovation, optimizing costs, and ensuring our cloud environment is future-proof and adaptable to changing market dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of cloud engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective cloud operations.
  • Develop and implement cloud strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Ensure high availability, security, and performance of cloud-based systems and applications.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with other technology teams to integrate cloud solutions into existing systems and processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends, driving innovation and adopting best practices.
  • Manage cloud service providers and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and reliable services.
  • Implement robust disaster recovery plans and ensure business continuity in the event of cloud-related disruptions.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide recommendations for optimizing cloud resource utilization.
  • Document and maintain cloud architecture, ensuring clear and accurate records for future reference and expansion.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing cloud operations, with a proven track record of success.
  • Fully qualified to degree level in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Additional qualifications or certifications in cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, are preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud architecture, design, and implementation, with a focus on security and scalability.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of cloud engineers.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships.
  • Proficiency in cloud monitoring and management tools, such as AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or similar.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes is highly advantageous.
  • A solid understanding of AI and its applications in cloud environments is desirable.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions to optimize cloud operations.
