Engineer the future of global finance

At Citi, our Tech team doesn’t just support finance – we are helping to redefine it. Every day, $5 trillion crosses through our network. We do business in 180+ countries operating at a scale few can match. From deploying advanced AI to helping shape global markets, we build systems that matter. Look to join a team where your work helps influence economies, your ideas can drive innovation and outcomes, and your growth is backed by mentorship, continuous learning and flexibility with potential hybrid work opportunities. Help solve real-world challenges that touch millions and get the opportunity to build the future of finance with Citi Tech.

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Product Manager – Vice President to join our Banking Technology group. This is a strategic role designed for a product-minded leader who can bridge the gap between complex regulatory obligations and modern automated engineering workflows.

You will be responsible for enhancing the automation of Risk & Controls frameworks by identifying high-impact opportunities for proactive compliance integration and leading the end-to-end lifecycle from concept to scaled production. You will be heavier on the "product" side—defining the product strategy, backlog, and integration roadmap—while maintaining the deep technical and risk expertise to guide a cross-functional team in building and shipping world-class, control-integrated, and highly resilient applications.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Vision: Own the product backlog and implementation strategy for Risk & Controls initiatives within Banking Technology. Analyze internal control requirements, and pain points to identify and champion new opportunities for automated, continuous compliance.
  • Drive the Roadmap: Translate the risk and compliance vision into a clear, actionable backlog. Develop, prioritize, and groom features, epics, and user stories to guide the engineering team.
  • Lead from the Front: Act as the key product and stream leader and establish modern agile best practices which foster a culture of engineering excellence and rapid, risk-aware iteration.
  • Bridge Risk and Tech: Serve as the primary liaison between risk control partners, engineering teams, and product owners. Articulate complex regulatory and compliance requirements into clear technical specifications, user stories, and automated gateways.
  • Hands-On Workflow Integration: Be prepared to get hands-on with building initial control validation models, mock gateway inputs, and automated workflows to validate integration patterns quickly.
  • Champion and Influence: Influence and negotiate with senior control leadership (Risk, Compliance, Audit) to secure approval and adoption of automated, AI-driven compliance gates. Communicate progress, control outcomes, and milestones effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Manage Risk and Compliance: Uphold the firm's commitment to risk management and compliance. Ensure that all product decisions and technical implementations within the platform adhere to the highest standards of security, ethics, and regulatory requirements, safeguarding the firm and its clients.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
