Job Title
Your role will be to extend and maintain the data backbone of the UK Digital Twin Centre's projects and programmes. You'll transform complex, real-world data from sensors, devices and industrial systems into reliable, scalable data platforms that enable impactful digital twin solutions. Working across a range of digital twin initiatives, you'll help shape data architectures, pipelines and services from initial concept through to delivery.
WHAT YOU'LL DO (Duties)
- Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines that bring data from sensors, devices and other sources into digital twin platforms.
- Design and manage data architectures, including the selection and optimisation of data lakes and relational and non-relational databases, while contributing to data modelling, governance and wider architecture decisions across UKDTC projects.
- Clean, transform, and structure data, making sound decisions on data architecture, storage, and database technologies.
- Develop and optimise telemetry and data integration pipelines to support reliable, scalable digital twin solutions.
- Evaluate emerging data technologies and recommend approaches that improve performance, scalability and maintainability.
- Collaborate with industry partners and multidisciplinary teams to understand challenges and translate requirements into practical technical solutions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
