Location: Milton Keynes based, with occasional travel to nationwide sites

Salary: £30,500 base salary

Additional Payments: £500 joining fee and a £3,000 Technology Annual Skills Premium paid in monthly installments. The premium recognises the specialist skills developed through areas such as data analytics, supply chain management system configuration and deployment, and AI technology development.

Duration: 2-2.5 years

Start date: September 2027

What is the programme?

IT is the nervous system of Supply Chain, we connect different parts of our organisation with each other and to customers, translating business needs into solutions across the globe. Graduates will gain broad experience across IT Operations, Technology Solutions, Project Delivery, Data & Analytics and Operational Technologies. Our programme is designed to develop well-rounded IT professionals, with many progressing into leadership or specialist roles after completing the scheme.

While you'll specialise in Technology, you'll spend time understanding our operations firsthand, working closely with colleagues across warehouse, transport and customer environments to help deliver solutions that support the day-to-day running of the operation.

What will I be doing?

As part of the programme, you will gain:

  • APM Project Management Qualification
  • ITIL Foundation certification

Both are fully funded and supported by DHL as part of your structured development. You'll also receive ongoing mentoring, coaching, and exposure to senior IT leaders throughout your placements.

Year 1: Foundations

  • Rotational placements across IT Operations, Solutions and Project teams.
  • Gain exposure to warehouse and transport management systems and how they support DHL Supply Chain operations.
  • Support the implementation, testing and rollout of technology solutions.
  • Learn how technology projects are planned, delivered and supported within a live operational environment.
  • Build stakeholder management skills by working with customers, suppliers and colleagues across the business.
  • Gain experience in IT service management, training and documentation activities.

Year 2: Development & Stretch

  • Take an active role in technology projects, business implementations and go-lives.
  • Support digitalisation, automation and innovation initiatives across our operations.
  • Gain exposure to project management, solution design and technology change management.
  • Work with data and business intelligence teams to support reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead smaller technology improvement projects and contribute to customer-focused solutions.
  • Develop specialist product knowledge and build expertise in supporting operational technology systems.

We're not expecting you to have everything figured out from day one. We're looking for people with the potential to grow and develop throughout the programme.

What are the entry requirements?

  • Achieved, or be on track to achieve, a 2:1 degree or above.
  • Willing and able to relocate within commuting distance of your placement.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence or be able to travel independently to multiple sites when required.
  • Have a genuine interest in supply chain, logistics, technology and IT operations.
  • Candidates must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme.
