Support Digital Innovation Across Our Schools
Job Title: Technology Support Technician
Working Pattern: Full time: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday / 52 Working Weeks Per Annum
Grade: LGPCD Scale 5/6, Points 10-18
Salary: £28,608 - £32,578 (These figures include the holiday pay entitlement for someone with less than five years' continuous service)
Location: Chelmsford, Essex (with occasional travel to Brentwood and other Trust sites as required)
Reports to: Director of IT & Digital Transformation
Job Purpose
- To provide ICT support to users
- To install, maintain and support the schools IT systems
- To support driving innovation and digital transformation
Principle Accountabilities
- Cross-Trust responsibility for:
- Technical support and resolution of faults on a wide range of devices
- Deployment, configuration, maintenance and updating of devices
- Accurate record-keeping
- Supporting internal Safeguarding and Data Protection requirements

References: Referees will be contacted prior to the interview date to request references on all shortlisted candidates. The Trust also reviews social media relating to shortlisted candidates as part of the screening process to ascertain whether candidates demonstrate appropriate conduct and behaviour and suitability for employment in an educational environment.

Thank you for your interest in this exciting opportunity to join the Central ICT Support Team at SEAX Trust. As a growing multi-academy trust of five special schools across Essex, we are proud to offer a fully managed ICT service that supports teaching, learning, and administration across all our sites.
Our schools span Essex; from Brentwood to Chelmsford and on to Colchester. They serve over seven hundred wonderful young people with a range of special educational needs: from moderate learning difficulties; speech, language and communication needs and social, emotional & mental health needs, as well as meeting the needs of a significant group of pupils in all our schools with an autism diagnosis.

As our Trust continues to grow, we are excited to offer a new opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Technology Support Technician to join our dynamic ICT Team. In this role, you will work closely with experienced colleagues to deliver high-quality technical support across SEAX Trust schools. You will therefore play a vital part in ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and security of our ICT systems and services.
This position is key in supporting the Trust's centralised ICT infrastructure and contributes to the smooth running of teaching, learning, and administration. As part of a supportive team, you will have access to guidance and expertise from professionals, enabling you to develop your skills while ensuring staff and students have reliable access to the technology they need. This is an essential role within our Trust, helping to keep our ICT systems running smoothly and securely.
