Telecoms Account Manager

£40,000–£45,000 basic + Commission

Hybrid – Southampton based.

Our client is a well-established technology solutions provider, delivering connectivity, network security, voice and managed technology services to businesses across the UK.

They are looking for an experienced Telecoms Account Manager to manage and grow an established customer base while also developing new business.

From day one, you will inherit a portfolio of approximately 120 existing accounts, providing immediate opportunities for retention, upselling and cross-selling. Alongside this, you will be expected to win new customers through your own self-generated opportunities as well as leads provided by an established SDR team.

You'll work closely with customers to understand their objectives and technology requirements, positioning the business as a trusted technology partner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of approximately 120 existing customer accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across connectivity, network security, voice and wider technology solutions.
  • Generate and win new business through proactive prospecting and self-generated leads.
  • Develop and convert opportunities generated by the SDR team.
  • Conduct regular account reviews to identify customer requirements and future opportunities.
  • Drive customer retention and maximise account value.
  • Work closely with technical, delivery and support teams to ensure excellent customer outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts, account plans and pipeline updates.

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in an Account Manager, Client Manager, Business Development Manager or similar role.
  • A track record of growing existing accounts and winning new business.
  • Experience selling technology, telecoms, IT, managed services, connectivity, security or communications solutions.
  • Comfortable generating your own opportunities as well as working with SDR-generated leads.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a consultative approach to sales.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities effectively.
  • A proactive, target-driven and customer-focused approach.

Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Hybrid – Southampton based
£40,000–£45,000 basic + commission, depending on experience.
